A new SCM windorflex is up and running at Compass Windows & Doors
A great example of what happens when machine, tooling, and software partners pull in the same direction.
Working alongside Liam McCarney at Compass and Alan Ball at Oertli, we partnered closely with SCM to bring the windorflex into production. By coordinating directly with the machine manufacturer at every stage, the project was delivered both on time and on budget.
On the technical side, SCM introduced new programming functionality with this line, and we adapted our postprocessor to take full advantage of it — so the machining data CalWin sends is matched to exactly what the machine can do.
And the work didn't stop at go-live. We've continued to support Compass since installation, adding new operations and machining as their needs have grown.
For window and door manufacturers, the gap between a machine's spec and its real-world output almost always comes down to integration. This project shows how you close it. 🔧
